I am in the process of taking my hull down to gelcoat. The question I have is how do you get the boat out of the cradle far enough to prep it all and barrier coat it. To make it more difficult the boat is in my yard so I can't get it in a lift. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

If you were placed there by sling, some have them come back and re-position once the work is done on the un-covered areas.

It's in a cradle... if the pads are movable then place a prop against a nearby section and move the one you want to paint under.... one at a time if necessary.

Build a leg from 2x6" with a 3/4" plywood support same size as ones on cradle. staple a piece of carpet on chock it up close to support you want to lower, do 1 at a time. Make sure you put say a sizeable piece of scrap lumber under the temporary leg, say a piece of 2x8 0r 2x10", couple of rock screws towed will keep it from sliding out..., screw the plywood into the end of the 2x6" b-4 you put on the carpet....
