Regarding bottom painting/spray vs roller painting. Any pros or cons? THANKS Randy

gobbs easier

rolling on the bottom paint is a ton easier than spraying it on. If your a die hard racer than spray it on, otherwise just roll it on, the speed you'll loose is minimal. If you have a true race boat than you have all other kinds of worries. Of course I'm talking about a fairly commen type of paint such as Petit Trinadad or ACP-50. These paints roll on easily and if your hull and rudder are faired you'll have no adverse performance problems.

If you spray

Randy: If you spray you will probably need a tent and some environmental permit. Most bottom paints are rolled on. This stuff is VERY toxic so spraying it is not a good idea. Also if you are sanding the old bottom it is also a good idea to have a respirator. This stuff is made to kill things that grow on the bottom of you boat, let's not have it killing you.
