I need to bottom paint my boat soon. I'd like to do it myself. The easiest way to do it appears to be to put the boat on the trailer, but then how to paint under the trailer bunks and the centerboard? Has anyone found a good solution to this problem without going to a boat yard? Tony

Trailer Boat Bottom Painting

I made some 6 ft bunk boards with carpet and used two jacks one on each side of the new boards lift the boat of the trailer bunk boards overnight for the paint to dry. Then I set the boat down on wax paper that covered the bunk board and it will float off when putting the boat back in the water. The wax paper is also bio-degradable and it keeps the bunk board carpets from bonding to the newly applied and overnight dryed paint. Hope this helps. It saved me $600.00. I painted the center board as well as I could with the boat jacked up.
