been my view too
Was at Ace hardware a while ago and some lady was in line talking to the cashier about birds. She was complaining that there just weren't as many birds around as there used to be. Her whole purchase consisted of insecticides, grub killers, and weed killers for the lawn
Had to laugh, early this summer I re-roofed my grandmas porch, had a pile of old shingles sitting there. A city of kentwood inspector stopped and said something about the environmental hazards of the old shingles and that I'd hear from the EPA about it. When I asked him what the difference was between the old shingles and the new asphalt they were putting down, he just kind of lost steam and walked away.
Here in michigan, when you run into something like that it's just marina policy, not a law. Most laws like that are 'feel good' laws, politicians can say they're doing something, and enviro groups can feel they've done something. The only people who are affected are the people who need it done.
