I am preparing to paint the bottom of my '85 Hunter 34 for the first time. The bottom has been power washed and looks pretty good. I figured on some light sanding and 2 or 3 coats of Interlux Micron Extra, an ablative paint. The previous Owner believes the existing paint is Woolsey Neptune. The boat is in the upper Chesapeake half the year and out of the water the other half. I would like the bottom paint to last a couple of years or more but I also want to avoid paint buildup and the extensive sanding or stripping that that might entail. Looking for some words of wisdom.
