I just bought a Pearson 26 that needs a bottom job. How much paint should it take to paint the bottom and sides? Also any comments on spraying as opposed to rolling and tipping.
Thanks

the hardest part of bottom job is sanding ,prep you'll only need 1 gal for a 26, boat

I prefer to wet sand then roll the paint on... 1 gallon will be more than enough for the bottom. When you say sides I assume you mean below water line..... Right? Remember bottom paint is toxic.. Wear a respirator when dealing with the stuff. Good luck!

Depending on what you mean by bottom job. If you are just applying another coat of bottom paint... find out what is on there now. Some paints are not compatible with others... and a primer needs to be applied. 1 gallon will do my P303 with a little left to spare. Now if your stripping down to the gelcoat... roll up your sleeves... this has turned into a project.
