Could I get your opinion? I am restoring my AMF Catfish. I was going to bottom paint it but It is unlikely that I will keep it in the water. I have the bottom sanded and clean. Could I give it two or three coats of white gelcoat. I want to be sure it is sealed (I will bubble test it) and need to hide repairs.

You won't be leaving it in the water long enough to do it any good, since presumably you'll be in and out as you haul it around.
