Our Bose 3-2-1 stereo keeps blowing some sort of fuse in the "Acoustimass Module Base" or in the radio/DVD player. Every time this happens we have to send it to Bose for repair $$. Last time it blew, I had AC power on, battery charger on, inverter on-powering the entertainment center (TV and Bose). I'm I doing something wrong with the power set up or should I be looking at something else. All this stuff is factory installed. Thanks

Inverter AC is square wave!!!

I'm assuming you have some odd AC setup as you are not supposed to be able to have shore AC and inverter AC turned on to an outlet at the same time. Syncing the two circuits requires some equipment I have never seen on a boat so I suspect you don't have it either. If you do have both providing power to the same outlet then that is surely your problem with that said, I make the assumption that the inverter is powering the sound system. Inverters come in two flavors, modified sine wave and real(almost) sine wave. The modified sine wave is very modified however it is a square wave and the odds of your high end sound system being able to digest it is low. The inverter should have documentation as to which it is.

Nick is correct

On our 2005 H41 there is an inverter dedicated just for the Bose 3-2-1 and TV, as all installed at the factory. It's on a 12V DC breaker labeled 'Entertainment'. That inverter is located next to the Bose Acoustimass bass module. It is totally separate from the Freedom inverter/charger, also installed at the factory. The Bose/TV system is not on any other AC outlet. We run our Bose 321 just the way Mark describes, and have never blown a fuse. Ours works fine in any mode: with charger on, charger off, shore power on, shore power off, etc. One thing we learned is to wait a minute after turning the Entertainment breaker on to allow the Bose unit to initialize itself, before touching anything on the Bose. If we touch anything too soon, the unit just does not respond at all, like it's dead. In the Bose instruction manual is a restart procedure about unplugging the Acoustimass module and plugging it back in again which can sometimes resolve this, kind of like a reboot. As Nick suggests too, try Hunter customer service on this one to see if they have any other ideas. Also if you Google 'Bose 3-2-1 blown fuse', it seems others are having similar problems with this unit in their homes, and not just boats.

Thanks for all the responses. We have a dedicated inverter (Sinergex Puresine 600 watt Inverter) just for the TV and stereo. I guess we can try the unplugging and plugging in procedure, also waiting for the system to initialize itself first before turning it on . I guess we could also use a meter to see if the inverter is supplying too much power to the system? Thanks Again!
