I've noticed that paint designated as boot topping paint seems to come in only a few basic colors. If I wanted to paint my boot topping stripes in some other colors can I use another kind of paint, or is there some special quality that paint marketed as boot toping paint has? If not, what sort of paint would I look for? Also, when painting over an existing paint is there any sort of preparation that needs to be done -- either roughing up the existing paint or using a primer? Thanks in advance for your answers.
