Boomkicker Installation

Hey guys and gals,Mighty quite around these parts lately!Got a question for those who have installed the boomkicker on the 170...did you drill out the rivets on the bail mounted to the bottom of the mast then slide the slug up the mast (then rivet the bail back on), or did you mill off some alumimun from the side of the mast track then slid the slug into the sail track?Plan to put mine on this weekend and just wanted poll the pros and see how you all put yours on. I think either way will work fine, one more "permanent" that the other, but open to your ideas.Godspeed,Rusty

yes on 170

I use the BoomKicker( heavy rods) on my 170 and the slugs slide right in from the bottom of the mast. you will have to remove the screws, remove the block, reattach the screws just enough to grab the slug and then guide it to the position you want it at, remove one screw at a time to reattach the block and then tighten.One of our club (H.D.A.S.C.) mentioned that he too was thinking about triming his rods (heavy) back about 3 inches.
