Pearson 33 Charleston
I've recently purchased a 1971 Pearson 33. Althought it came with a Spinnaker it is currently without a Spinnaker Pole. It does have a light wieght adjustable wisker pole, but I think that won't be allow in club races. Can anyone tell me the general specifications for SP for that boat? I've searched the internet high and low and have been unable to find any specifics regarding what should be used. I've seen lots for sale but not sure what I need.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The P33 (1970-75) has a 'J' dimension of 12.67ft.,
The P33-2 (1986-91) has 'J' of 13 ft.

The length of the spinn pole is the same as J if racing, can be a bit longer if just 'kroozing'.

3"Ø is the normal for a 13ft. 'plain vanilla' aluminum pole

I built my own pole

bought the Forespar ends and bought alluminum "tubing" that matched the wall thickness and diameterForspar used on poles of the length I was making. I think I paid about $120 for a 17 foot 3" diameter tube, non coated and just painted it. The two pole ends cost more than the tube.

Length, as stated, is the "J"
