I have just purchased a 1971 Pearson 30, and am preparing it for re-sale. I just noticed that the track (where the foot of the sail fits into the boom) is sort of on the side. Seemingly it will move. There is a handle about midway on the boom that lifts up for turning. The device appears to be inoperative. Can someone explain it's use and tell me if there is a part that I can purchase to replace it or can the boom be manually set right?
