boom vang attachment on to underside of boom on 1989 26.5 has come out twice the last two weeks in moderate winds and reasonable handling going onto a jibe and later falling off onto a close/beam reach.could you let me know if there is a sounder attachment. originally a sort of loose u-type attachment fitting into a holding iron rivetted into slot running along underside of boom. vang shackled onto this.looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.ed - barnegate bay, n.j.

what?

what gives the bail on the boom or the shackle? If it's the bail attached to the boom it might need replacement. There are all types of fittings you could use go to your local chandlery and look at all the fittings they have that could be riited to the boom. It doesn't nessicarily have to fit the slot under the boom.JB
