Boom Vang Setup

I am installing a Garhauer 30 Series Boom Vang. I need some advice on mounting.
What do I use for attachments to the Mast base, and the Boom? Should I use a Boom Bail? What type of Shackles?

Do you have a Kenyon mast and boom? If you go on the Rig-Rite site you can find fittings specifically for Kenyon spars. I'm guessing that you have Kenyon 4270 mast and 3550 boom. There is a vang bracket and a vang toggle that mounts to the mast. Mine is with ss rivets.

I don't particularly like bails used on the boom (except that I have one for the mainsheet). I prefer the bracket that is mounted to the boom with ss rivets, but I didn't find it on the web site for some reason. If you give Rig-Rite a call they can probably help you.

Garhauer has very good customer service. I recommend letting them help you. If you require special brackets they can make them for you.
