Boom Vang repair

Does anyone have experience with repair or replacing the spring boom vang. It seems the spring gets weak over the years and doesn't support the boom very well.

It Is Adjustable

The sailor who purchased mine adjusted his. I guess it's a matter of experimental disassembly. Take photos! Good luck, Rick D.
