Boom Vang for Catalina 25?

Looking to add a boom vang onto my C25, any suggestions???Not looking for anything too complex, just average.

I had a Garhauer on an '87 C25. Still the least expensive. I used the next larger size than that recommended. It was 4:1 purchase. It was 'sprung' and had enough power to push boom up with sail furled.

Garhauer rope vang

I bought a Garhauer rope boom vang for about $85.00. Get the one rated for your boat size or smaller. You can also use it as a preventer when running. A smaller one is better in that it will break before your boom does if something bad happens preventer-rigged. You can also make one from used blocks and new rope.
