My 1985 O'Day 26 does not have a boom vang. Based on various articles I have read it seems it would be a good idea to install one. Am looking for some comments on type of vang, model, brand, etc. Also, how difficult are these to install? Does it require any drilling into mast or boom? Thank you.

I was VERY HAPPY with the Garhauer boom vang on my 22 and now I have a Garhauer rigid vang on my new 28. About $75 includes new line and blocks. (you'll need a boom bail and need to attach it to the base of the mast with another bail or a mast hound.
