The plastic sheaves that the reefing lines run thru the boom on have broken. How are they replaced? Ne Oublie Voyager is a 1998 461, with a Z-spar boom. The axel for the sheaves seems to be a pressure fit but I wanted to know if there was a better way than just pounding on the boom with driftpin and hammer? Thanks

Check US spars website

I would suggest checking US spars webite (www.usspars.com).If you can find a decal on your boom it might give you a model number to use as a reference. They have some fairly good schematics on line which contain exploded views of the components. That might give you some clues as to how the sheaves are assembled.

It could just be a force fit pin, or there might be a small "J" bolt arrangement holding the shaft in place.

Thanks for web site

Thanks Doug,

US spar web site is some help with the exploded views, but the drawings a a bit small! There don't seem to any "J" bolts.

Thanks again
