Boom Mishap

Was mid sail when boom disconnected from mast. Pin/bolt remained attached to mast. Pin/bolt can be re-inserted into boom, but no way to seeminly hold in place. There is a hole at the end of the pin/bolt for a cotter pin, but no obvious way to secure once within the boom.

Has anyone encountered this? Ideas to secure? Thank you!!!

Short of a temporary keeper line from boom to mast side gooseneck ftg, you'll need to remove or drill out the screws/rivets that hold the mast end casting in the boom to resecure the pin. While you're in there inspect and refurb the standard outhaul if necessary. Better yet consider replacing it with a 10:1 system for better outhaul control.
