I have written for advice before and always get a helpful response from fellow owners. I recently crewed on an Ensign 23 ft and afterwards the skipper used a boom crutch to elevate the boom vang. She then placed the boat cover over the mast so that the rain would run off easily.I also put a cover on my boat when moored off of Madison in about 12 ft of water. But the cover stretchs over the cockpit under the boom vang which is kept up by using the main sail rope.Has anybody developed or know were to purchase a mast or boom crutch which would also serve to elevate the cover when the boat is moored.
