I just got myself a 25 Hunter 1982 and It didnot come with instructions. I can't figure out the boom lines, there are three of them. Where can I get a book on setting up all the rigging on the boom. Also there is a pin lock on the boom to hold it in place on the mask, I think this will have to be unlocked to raise the main. Is the main going to hold the boom up? Thanks, Gerald

boom lines

The mainsail will hold the boom up when it is hoisted. The topping lift holds the boom up at other times; this is a line attached to the end of the boom and going up to the masthead usually. The pin lock may need to be engaged while the sail is hoisted unless there is another way to secure the boom at the proper position on the mast. The sail is hoisted until it is stretched tight along the front adge (luff). The other boom lines are probably for outhawl, which provides tension to the foot of the sail; and jiffy reefing. You should go to the library and see if they have a book available, or check this website or AMAZON.COM for related info. Also, talk to local sailors who usually are delighted to explain and talk about sailboats...
