Aloha Need to pull Atomic 4 out of my Catalina 27---is it ok to use the boon as a lift ?

Use the Main Halyard

Rather than the boom. It's a lot stronger. Use the boom to keep the halyard pulling straight up rather than towards the mast. Once you get the engine up and out of the cabin, you can swing the boom over the side and lower the engine down. Did it on my 36 and 30.
