I have a 4 hp engine for my inflatable. It is very difficult to lift the motor up to the cockpit or lower it to the dinghy from my O'Day 25. I have seen a hookup that uses the boom with the tackle from the main sheet to raise and lower the motor for use. Does anyone have this type of set up on their boat? How does it work? Any suggestions on how to rig this on a 25? I would also like any suggestions on how to perform this maneuver more gracefully until I get my boom lift hooked up. I have nightmares of losing my grip and watching my motor take a swim.
