I am trying to set up the outhaul system on my O25. There is a pully on the end of the boom and two pullies along the starboard side, but no cleats. The line attached to the cringle runs through the pully at the end of the boom and forward to one of the two pullies on the boom, but there is no way to tie it off so that I can quickly release it for adjustment. Does anyone have a recommendation of brand, size, etc. Thanks for your thoughts.

The pulleys on the side of the boom are part of the reefing system. You should have one or two cleats on the boom closer to the mast. Mine are small 2.5 or 3 inch cleats.

Out haul cleat

I have used an Alum. Junior clamcleat about 18 in. to 2ft from the end of the boom on the port side. I don't like horned cleats on the boom. I'm afraid a stray line might get caught. The clamcleat has a hole in it to retain the line and keeps it handy for adjustment or non-adjustment as the case may be.

Thanks

For the advice. Not being at the boat, I can't say for sure that there isn't a horn cleat on the boom, but I don't think there is. At any rate, Teepee's suggestion confrimed my thoughts on the matter. Again, I appreciate everyone's input on this and other questions I have had.
