Does anyone have an extra boom for sale for a 28.5 my budget cannot accomodate the $1700. Kenyon wants for a replacement. I'll take anything that can be modified or repaired. Northeast/ ny area.

Boom

Why not check around with various salvage yards. Try the Treasure Chest in Riviera Beach, Fla. or others. Any boom will do, just get the length long enough or longer so it can be cut down with the diameter somewhat close to the original. It does not have to have the internal reefing, outhaul or even the same gooseneck. You can put something together with a little ingenuity if you think about it. All you really need is the extrusion, endcap, three cheek blocks, three eyestraps, three cleats, a boom bail for the mainsheet, a reefing hook and a gooseneck. Paint it white if you want and your there, a boom with two reefing stations and an outhaul. I think you can get way under $1700 dollars. It would be a whole lot harder to replace the mast. Good luck

Might check with the...

Sailors Exchange in St. Augutine. They've got a yard out back that probably has spare sparrs for the USS Constitution and pieces of the RMS Titanic! Seriously, I would give them a call, I don't have the number with me but you can call long distance information. Can't hurt...

Consider a swap?

I have an 84 H27 that I was considering selling to get a 28.5.
