Good day!,
I am converting my Mainsheet Traveler, on my 27', to mid cabin with aquired parts. Now it's time for the boom bail and I am readining that I should throughbolt with a compression sleeve. I need help in two areas.

1 Most bails I see out there may or may not come with a throughbolt and none come with a compression sleeve, Where can I get one of these.

2 Can any one provide me with a simple rigging diagram for the blocks. I am hoping for one, possibly 2 attachment points on the boom.

Thanks

I assume you are using two block and tackle systems port and starboard, sort of like two boom vangs with fiddle blocks providing the mechanical advantage (MA). You should use one bail that will be the attachment point for both of the upper fiddle blocks. You will have to go to a marine store to get a hex head bolt (machine screw) and insert (lock) nut. As far as a compression tube, it is not absolutely necessary, but if you want to get one, you can use an old round spreader made of aluminum for a small boat, or find some tubing maybe at a salvage yard near your home. But, you don't really need the compression tube in my opinion. This is much more important on the mast where spreaders attach, etc.

The track car is attached to a line on both sides running to clam cleats.. With a single attachment to go to the boom centered on te car. I was thinking of hooking up my existing mainsheet blocks to look for potential problems. I am learning that you can tie up alot of expense in this rigging, so i am trying to work it out before the big purchase.

Thanks Barnacle Bill
