sorry to say john, josh, but that doesn't help me much. Maybe i should explain why i ask this question. i'm restoring an old 22. when i bought it, it was basically stripped bare, inside and out. i got it without a mast, sails or rigging, and have to work with what i can find in the second hand market. this means i have to improvise a lot. i think it makes sense though to try and stay close to the original design of the boat here where i can and that's why i have to ask these dumb questions, the answers can sometimes help me with the many decisions i have to make. So i'm sorry to be a bore, but i must ask again if somebody can tell me -in inches, centimeters, mph or whatever, the distance between the mastfoot and this slider for the boom in the original design of the 22.

Boom Replacement

I keep the boom from my hobie sixteen and the boom from my oday 22 side by side in my garage. they are about the same the size. The hobie being a little longer, but it could be shortened a tad if you wanted. They also seem to have the same goose neck fitting. It should make a great replacement especially since used hobie parts are relativly cheap and available.
