A heads up of sorts.
If you haven't discovered them yet, NOAA supplies free downloadable Booklet Charts of most of the costal US (I think). For instance chart 13290 is Caso Bay. You can download it and print it using Adobe Reader. The benfit is the charts are broken down into 8 1/2 X 11 pages for inclusion into a notebook. For a long range cruise, I don't think they make sense, but for a trailer sailor or folks with limited space or short, more localized trips, I think they're the bomb. We have full sized (well not Full Size) charts of our area to see the big picture, but for step-by-step (tack-by-tack) information, we open the notebook to the appropriate page.
