I need to bond (3) 3/4" peices of Teak together to form a leveling block to mount our compass. Anyone have a proven method, glue, epoxy or other? This piece will be located on the exterior bulkhead, so weather is a factor. Any help would be helpful. TIA, J. R.

Gorilla glue & Biscuit joiner

Gorrilla Glue is the best. you will have to sand the excess off after the glue sets. You can use a biscuit joiner also. The advantage of using a biscuit is to keep it level and flat to the other board. have you thought about using a larger piece of teak?

West System Epoxy

is the best. You'll need a little filler and be sure to varnish when done to protect the epoxy from UV but it will provide a strong bond. I've built a couple of boats with it and I'm sold on the stuff. You can get it at almost any marine supply.

Starboard to the rescue!

JR: This is a perfect application for Starboard (or any of the other UV stablized Poly products). There is an organization called PlasTeak that makes it colored. You may be able to get a piece that is thick enough from them, or you can screw a couple of pieces together. www.plasteak.com

Steve, your right

I was thinking his application would be structural, but it's only a compass. Weight shouldn't be a problem.
