I am trying to remove the four stainless bolts that hold the strut that holds the drive shaff just forward of the prop. Two came out but two others only turn and don't back out. I'm trying to do this to work on the cutlass bearings. Is there a way to get to these bolts from the inside of the boat? How are they fastened? Is there a nut? Is there a better way to change the bearing? Help.

removing strut

Don, there should be four bolts and four nut that hold the strut in place. there should be access to them from inside the boat. Follow the prop shaft and they should be just forward of where the shaft exits the hull. (not familar with you boat but this is pretty standard set up) they should come out holding the nut and turning the screw. In a worse case you may have to drill them out. Good Luck !

aft cablin stowage box

Look in thew aft cabin- the stowage box aft of the packing box cover. On my 28.5 there are 4 bolts with those nylon edged integrated lock washers on each.
