Boats... the facts of life?

You don't own a boat as an investment unless you are considering mental health, family memories, life long friendships, and experiencing nature as returns in which case it's a hugely profitable investment.

I've had several boats and was able to sell them for new what I paid for them each time but that did not include what I spent to keep them in like new condition.

I bought my recent boat right after coming back from a cruise ship tour of the Virgin Islands that cost the wife and I about $5000.00, which is like traveling inside a shopping mall! The boat cost about the same. After one trip to Jedidiah Isl. near our home for a long weekend we realized it had already paid for itself!!

I have learned a long time ago to not pretend boats make financial sense. Just enjoy. When it isn't fun anymore its time to get rid of it. Anything you get from a sale is gravy. My story and I'm sticking to it.
