So, boats been dry five years. Would you re-bed the only two thru hulls? Depth transducer and speed wheel? Or should I just leave them alone? They were fine last time she was in the water but I have these visions...

If they were bedded with 5200 you'll destroy them trying to get them out. If they look ok I'd leave them alone and see if they leak.

As a former dealer who installed many transducers, vote two to leave alone. There is an old saying. If it aint broke then do not fix plus I know the 23.5 too well.

You won't know until you float her. Around here it seems like boats that have been on the hard for a while dry out and leak.

I have never heard of thru-hulls drying out. Unless they are stuck, there is nothing to worry about whether on the hard or in the water unless they have soft spongy wood backings or they were leaking before. Same with the transducers. After five years of storage my focus would be the fuel system.

5200 is a indestructible product so I concur it will not dry out. First put in the water and check for leakes
and TR check the transom hull to deck for no leaks either.

Hey thanks everyone for your input. I am leaning towards verifying the bilge pump is working and just keeping a close eye on them for awhile...

njlarry, all I have is an outboard and I had it serviced and am replacing the fuel tank and hose, if I can ever find the old style connector for a 2000 Honda 5hp BF5A.

I was able to find a fuel tank male fitting for a roughly '94 8 HP Honda, at a boat dealer that services Hondas. I would guess that the engine female fitting you show is also available, somewhere. If you have a local shop that sells Hondas try there, or else online (search for Honda outboard parts). I did notice in looking at the fuel hose fittings that there appears to be an "old style" and "new style", and the sites identify them by what year manufactured. The Honda US help line was good at helping me identify what type I needed. and yes, the one I bought did fit the hose end female adapter.

Not mine, Olympia, WA. They assured me the only one they had would work. Not. New ones are square, old ones round. I'll try Honda Dealer.

WM hardly stocks anything anymore. If they don't sell 20 a day they don't have it. If I'm going to have to order something anyway, I'll go to Amazon or some place and get it at 1/2 the price.
