Does anyone have experience using a boatlift for their Hunter trailerable? We want to keep our H240 at a lake cottage but do not want to more it due to other limitations. One advantage will be that this will eliminate the need to apply bottom paint. We plan to get a lift with adequate weight capacity and width (10 feet). Will probably drain the ballast before / as we lift the boat, to minimize the strain when raised. I do think this will be a straightforward system, but I wanted to see if others have any experience. Comments are appreciated. The ice is gone, and we are ready to go!

Choices

Some choices are: Shorestation, Hewitt, and shoremaster, all of which have web sites. You will have to have special bunks made because of how far the centerboard sticks out. This is quite common and eliminates many issues related to mooring. Jeff Peltier

Shore Station

I have a new H 260 and keep it on a Shore Station. We drain the ballast each time we lift the boat out of the water. Buy a lift sized for the weight of your boat with before draining and some equipment on board - you want it strong enough. It has been great for us. We did not add any special bunks - the stock bunks work great.
