Hey all, I am looking for a place to put a 42 ft monohaul on the hard, it is not my boat it is my friends boat who had to move to the UK urgently. The boat will be dry docked for an entire year potentially. The boat is in Charleston SC but can move it anywhere nearby. Any suggestions are appreciated

The further South you dry dock it, the less winterization needed.

You might try Marsh Harbor Boat Works in Beaufort SC. You might also try the marina on Dataw Island near Beaufort, but I don't know their actual name or phone number but you can check with @B757Captain who has his boat there.
I also recall there may be a boat yard in Charleston on the old Charleston Naval Shipyard. I went up there several years ago to look at a sailboat. Maybe @rgranger has some info. Seems it wasn't a "working boatyard" as much as a place where there were a bunch of boats up on the hard. I tried to google for it but couldn't find any info.
It was on the "former" Charleston Naval Shipyard property, which is now public access. If I recall correctly, it was not too far from the Hunley Museum and the brewery that is now there. It was kind of hard to get to and I don't actually recall any work being done, just boats on the hard there.
There are some boats on the hard at City Marina here in Charleston.
