I know a few of members on this site has done Mainsail procedure of buffing and waxing their boats. I did same to my when it was on the hard and was amaze at the different on the topside and cabin roof and deck of 19yrs old paint. My question is what product do I use to wash down the boat that I have put lots of time and work into without it removing the wax? There are some many product for boat wash that have chemical that would remove all waxing on the boat. What product did you use after using Mainsail buff and wax.

Simple Green works beautifully for me. Full strength, but must be left on to do it's job for about 2 minutes and MUST be rinsed thouroughly. It will not remove wax.
Depending on the condition of your fibreglass, you might have to compound or restore before cleaning and re-waxing.

Common dishwashing detergent, 409, Simple Green, Fantastic, etc. etc. etc. detergents are *too alkaline* for use on a waxed surface and will 'strip' the wax. Why go to all the bother of waxing, only to 'strip' the wax by using the improper high pH 'detergents'?
To KEEP the wax on your boat, car, etc. you MUST use a 'pH neutral' soap/detergent such as Meguiars: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g10464-deep-crystalreg-car-wash/ or any competitive pH NEUTRAL detergent.
Use a strong detergent to strip out all the old dead wax BEFORE polishing/buffing and waxing, never ON a waxed surface. ;-)

if ya dont have car/boat wash soap handy, hair shampoo will work great for washing without removing the wax.....it may even add a little shine to it...
