Stay in the Great Lakes
If it is an option, go for the Great Lakes. Nothing like them. Research teh North channel in Canada or the Straits and Mackinac Island. The water is clear, and FRESH. After a hard sail, you walk away. No need for a fresh water wash down...it has already happened. The draw back is winter storage but the reward is the clean environment. Here we use VC 17 battom paint. No sanding. Just power wash in the fall and re paint in the spring. I used to live in the North east and remember the drudgery of sanding/painting/cleaning and barnacles. Nothing here but a few zebra mussels. If you must go east, this is a good jumping off place with a great trip up the St. Lawrence or un setp yourmast and go the New York Canal way to the Hudson.Write if I can be of any further help. arbckb@wowway.comArt
