It all depends...again
I had to shop for a trailer for my First 235 two years ago. I got extremely lucky and found a used/demo alum. pontoon trailer that I could modify easily, and it still ran me $2,400. A new one would have cost 3,200. For a boat the size of yours, I'd bet it would be more than $3,500 to purchase a trailer. This would be a worthwhile investment if you didn't want to rely on near-water storage, or had a free or cheap place to store the boat. If this is just for getting to the shop, I imagine the transport would be cheaper. If your transport costs are higher than the numbers I've posted here, Your being ripped off! I was looking into having an S2 27 transported from Detroit, MI to St. Paul MN, and it was only going to be $1,500.You'll also need special permits, because the beam of the boat is wider than the 8'6" legal limit.
