Anybody familiar with this? Sounds like a great idea, but I guess I'd worry about how my boat was being treated. Also wonder about insurance coverage. www.boatswop.com Thanks. Bob

Tried but nut never tied

I sign up for something similar a couple of years ago. I never had any calls on our boat and never found one I wanted to try. However this site looks to have a whole lot more "members".

Works on Trust

We did that last year and took a boat out of San Diego for a week with the other party to come to the Pacific Northwest this spring. The insurance must be handled as you loaning your boat to a friend - no cash or it becomes void. There is risk but there is reward. We had never met the people before and we got to know them through E-mail and a few phone calls. They invited us to thier house, we had diner and they took us to the boat and went over everything the next morning. We will do the same on thier return and hopefully all will work out. Hopefully we will not only have a successful exchange but also make some friends.

House swapping

We exchanged houses for 25 years and rarely had a bad experience. Sadly, none came with a sailboat.
