Just returned from the Long Beach, CA boat show. I try to go every year to see what's new in equipment and gear and to say hello to some of my friends in the industry. Many years ago, this was a huge sailboat-only show. As power boats ramped up in popularity, they added them. Now, it's a sliver of its former self. We walked through the exhibits in two hours and the in-the-water broker boats in an hour. I was looking for boat yards and solar electric vendors. Only one was there. BTW, there were four finance companies represented, but.... four of the five were unmanned and didn't even have materials out. All the broker chat was what congress would do today.

It doesn't surprise me the strictly sail shows are going by the wayside - same thing happened this year with the St Pete show which I used to enjoy but now it's predominatly going to be powerboats too. Just gives my wife another opportunity to wish for a trawler.

Thanks Rick. I was thinking of going this year as I have not been the the LB show in a couple of years. Guess I won't waste my time.
