Boat show tomorrow

Would love to be there, but we are about 7 hours away and stripped the boat for haul-out early next week.

I went Thursday. Parking at the elementary school is $30.oo. I went to get the $2.25 sail ties. Spent 700 along the way. Neither West nor Defender are there.
You know the best deals sometimes are found on the last day of the show or Monday when traffic is slow and no issues with traffic as it is a federal holiday.
I plan to go on Monday to see some old timers.

Is the show a good place to look for a used Catalina 30? I heard they have a used section. Might go down Monday.
Is it feasible to think a boat bought in that area could be moved (by water) to South Jersey before winter sets in?

Ward, they have a used-boat dock just up the creek on the other side of the bridge. I believe a water taxi shuttles folks there. If you have not been watching the weather channel, Hurricane NATE is expected to be dumping rain here starting Sunday, maybe through Tuesday. Get good deals on foulies at the show

By the way, The Great Schooner Race is Thursday afternoon in the bay just off Annapolis. 30 to 40 schooners of all ages. They race to Norfolk overnight. Pride of Baltimore and the Sultana MIGHT be in it this year?

Thanks Ron. Is it possible to park nearer to the used boat dock? I read that it is in St Marys Cove. Only interested in the used boats, wife can't walk any distance.

Forget about parking anywhere in Annapolis. Today was a Navy home game so today was a good day not to go. Tomorrow hopefully the stadium will be open. It costs 10.00 for a space and a shuttle to the show. The only practical option for out of towners day tripping in.
The elementary school just over the bridge, in Eastport, looks like your shortest walk- just over the bridge. The property around the cove is St Johns, and I don't know if there is access to the docks by land for attendees?
If you go all the way across the bridge, just after the parking lot on the right side there is a sign on the sidewalk the water taxi is to the right. That'll get you to the Cove.

There's a used Catalina 30 in Brokerage cove. (looked pretty well used, though).
The new Catalina 315, 355 and 385 boats are pretty sweet.
I called the broker who had the Catalina 30 before I left. He texted me an address for parking at the St Mary's School. Said to park where I could and ignore the no parking signs. Said I would be OK. Found a "15 minute unloading zone" a block and a half from an entrance. No problem after 3 or so hours.
All I can say is WOW! Completely overwhelmed! What a great atmosphere! I need to get there earlier next time. Took a while but found the water taxi to Brokerage Cove. Found the C30 and made an offer. Then got a beer and hot dog and sat on the bank watching the crowds and water.
The broker had gotten a heads up and we were ready when the Blue Angels did a fly over for the home game. Very cool!

All I can say is WOW! Completely overwhelmed! What a great atmosphere! I need to get there earlier next time. Took a while but found the water taxi to Brokerage Cove. Found the C30 and made an offer. Then got a beer and hot dog and sat on the bank watching the crowds and water.

In the parking garage at Duke of Gloucester at about 8:45. No lines, the ticket machine says $11.00 when clocking out about 1:30. Breakfast at Chick & Ruth's, two admission tickets, lunch, 2 plastic railmount cupholders. It was about $100.00 day but loved it. And topping it off, on Middle River in our boat by 4:30, first good wind in 3 weeks! Planning on scrubbing and cleaning today with a little help from overhead to rinse off today.

Is parking still available on the back streets of Eastport in the residential area or have they gotten tougher on that. Can you still get the old fashion sandwiches at the downtown market building or at the circle. I still plan on being there rain or no rain on Monday. Did not know parking at the stadium has now doubled from $5 to $10. It has been some time since there with my good friend Jim Seamans/JAVA.
One year pulling a dual axle trailer for a catamaran for a friend of mine, axle came off in the circle and could not move it for an hour. Oh what fun with the town police and then departing the 2009 boat show on water with a hybrid power sailor at full throttle (my last show after 35 yeas) with Harbor Patrol, DNR and Coast Guard with blue light specials in hot pursuit. No tickets and can you believe that.
