Boat security

This summer I have an opportunity to keep my H240 in a slip at a friends private pier. It is in a great location close to good sailing water, and fairly remote by land. Last spring, while my boat was on its trailer in storage near our community, someone broke in. Fortunately they didn't take anything, but it didn't take much to bust the lock and hasp off the companionway entrance. I feel reasonably comfortable leaving the boat at the slip, but wonder what kind of security measures I should take.

locks are for honest people

nuf said. A thief (thieves) could cut the lines on any boat and paddle it out of the slip at oh dark thirty and be gone before anybody notices. That is why we have insurance. I marvel at folk who buy those expensive cars and are surprised when they are carjacked! Just be careful of yourself and let life go on. Joe
