Boat prices Catalina, Hunter
My point is that for boaters as customers it is beneficial to have some way to exchange information. It is good to know, which company is a pleasure to deal with, and which one is not. I am not asking you to call names and point fingers. But what I found as a new boat buyer is a lack of information on everything related to new boats. For cars we have blue books, MSRP’s, competition between many sellers. Sail boat market is different. So if you are happy with services that you’ve got, it would be nice for new comers to know. But if you are not, why not to share it, so other people won’t have to go through it too? Most people buy more than one boat in their life time. It is very likely that you are going to be on a market in a few years again. So this is what it is all about – information exchange. And this is my current example. I am not saying that Beneteau is a bad boat, I like it. And I am not saying that people who sell those boats are bad. I think that they are very good and nice people! What I am trying to say is that if you want to buy Beneteau, you better have backup plan and strategy for your negotiations ready if you do not want to pay 10-20K more than you really should. So they are very hard to deal with. In the opposite people say that it is very easy to do business with Catalina. This is what I was looking for. I’ve never bough a boat from Catalina, so how I would I know? By the way, I made a typo again. In my previous post what I was trying to type was Reward or punishment, not reward of ….. Sorry.
