Was in Charleston this weekend and was able to walk the docks a little. Found the training fleet for the College of Charleston's sailing team (2018 National Champs).

I called Charleston Harbor Marina while standing on their pier. They are all working remotely. She said she was fairly certain they could find me a spot. I also talked to a guy on one of the nearby creeks who has a stiletto on a mooring ball (along with about 20 other boats). The local public launch dumps into that creek. The stiletto guy said they are all private moorings and no one there bothered to register them... all home dropped. He said he has been there 9 years and no one has bothered him about it. So... I guess I want to see if I can afford the Marina but the mooring ball idea seems attractive also.
