For doing non skid look into a product called Kiwi-Grip. Easy DIY product. For topsides look into a product called Signature Finish, Florida is where it is made. I am in the process of painting my boat and these are the two products I am using.

I have seen several DIY projects using Interlux Perfection that looked great.

That's what I'm using this time and what I used last time - very very satisfied with the end product, but it's all in the prep. Do that right and it's almost impossible to go wrong. The Interlux videos are a big help too.
