I've been trying to decide where to put the boat name on my H26. Thought that putting the name on the "wave" decal might work, so I took a digital photo and then used an editing program to add text to see what my idea would look like. Please take a look in the Photo Forum and tell me what you think? . Thanks Ron Mehringer s/v Hydro-Therapy

Looks Great

Ron, The name looks good. I also thought it was a creative way to add a graphic to the boat name (esp. given the name you've chosen) w/o having to pay for an additional graphic. Of course, without having the entire side view of the whole boat, I can't evaluate the total effect (some like larger, others like smaller font sizes). From what I've seen, however, it looks good. Besides, I like the name. Fair Winds Tom Myers s/v ANOVA

I Agree

The graphic looks great. I used the same method: an edited digital photo, to show my boatyard where to put the name and the font style on my new H260. The result was most satisfactory. Ralph C. Regar S/V Shambala

Ron it looks great.

I put my boat name in the same relative area but I removed the wave. I never liked the wave and the space provided me a location for the boat name. I have her in the water and you have to come up for a visit. Smooth Sailing Bob "Gravyboat"

looks great

It looks great. The only thing is if you plan to ever coastguard document your boat all the letters need to be I think 3 1/2 unches high. But then again you can always pull off the old letters and start again if that happens. Dave Obeholtzer Hydrotherapy

Coast Guard document?

What does it mean to "Coast Guard document" a vessel? Is this something most sailors do. What are the reasons for doing, or not doing, it? I've seen some other posts, where they mention that on a documented boat the name AND home port must be on the stern. Thanks. s/v Hydro-Therapy

Thanks for USCG info...

but based on what I read it is doubtful that I would ever have the boat documented. Thanks anyway. s/v Hydro-Therapy
