I noticed in all this chat there is no mention of cost/charges for actually sailing,(not freighting), the boat. Out of naive curiosity, about how much is it to have someone move a boat around this size? Is it based solely on time?...distance?...??
Pardon my ignorance, I have never had to 'move' a boat that I wasn't sailing myself.

The true cost depends on a lot of factors. If you sail it yourself, you've first got the cost of transportation to get yourself down to the boat, then it depends on how many marinas you stay in, and whether or not you have to pay your crew, etc. If you're self-employed, how much income will you lose by taking time off to sail it yourself?
If you pay someone to sail it for you, you've some of the above expenses plus probably around $200 a day for the Captain, plus his transporattion expenses to and from the boat. The surveyor we used also delivers boats, and that's roughly his price range.
We purchased our latest boat in Jacksonville, and sailed her ourselves from there to Miami, then to Key West and then up to St. Pete, where we had her pulled out and shipped. It was actually farther by land shipping her from St Pete, but if we had just done the smart thing cost-wize and shipped from Jacksonville, we would have missed a truly great experience.
Our original plan was to sail her up to Pensacola and pull her out there, but after enduring the recent record breaking cold in Key West, none of us were looking forward to a sail across the northern gulf - at least not this winter! Our FL cruising permit expired Feb 15, so she had to be out of state by then or we'd have had a ton of sales tax to pay. Total shipping was around $3200.
