Boat move... Whoot!

In 2005, I purchased my boat and it was moored in Oceanside Harbor. Found out that the slip was subleased, so I had to move. Went over to Camp Pendleton and put myself on the waitlist for a slip. In the mean time I moved down to San Diego and was there until 2008, when I move back up to Oceanside Harbor.

In '09 I went to work in Afghanistan. In 2011, I got notice that my slip in Pendleton was available, but I wasn't. I was still overseas and my outboard was not working, so I had to relinquish and stay in Oceanside Harbor.

After coming back in 2013, I put my name back on the list, and today I get the call that the slip is available. WHOOT!

So Saturday I will move my boat from Oceanside Harbor (large harbor in the image) to Del Mar Marina (small harbor in the image). A whopping 1.3 mile trip, but it will be great. WHOOT!

Did I say WHOOT yet?

Better have your waypoints pre-programed :D
Have fun! I know I have waited years (over a decade) for my mooring & slip. It was well worth it.

Is that the entrance with the big DO NOT ENTER sign? If I remember its pretty scary.
Congratulations on your new home.

It's always great moving to a new slip...

until you find out its the one the seagulls and other birds have been using for a restroom. :(

That is great, Brian ! I like smaller marinas lots better than bigger ones.. We got moved out of the marina that I'd been in since 1978(!) for a few months. We went to a big marina nested in some condos and really didn't like the lack of privacy and noise.. Once the marina re-furb was done we moved back to our fine little marina up on a bayou and were happy again! Good to hear that you are going to a smaller one; probably lots more convenient..

Looks like the travel lift should be able to move you and save you all the hassle. Dang, you wouldn't even need to undo the shore power cord:)

Thanks guys. I know it is not a monumental move, but finally in the home port I wanted to be in '05. A stones throw as the crow flies so to speak.

Again... WHOOT! :D:D:D

:( Was asked by the Dock Master to wait until 10/31. Just because the slip technically still belongs to the current owner. So no big deal. It is all good.
