I've owned boats for over 40 years. All were insured, to one extent or another, mostly through BoatUS. I thought I understood the in's and out's of boat insurance having lost a boat to Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Yet when I read "5 Ways To Avoid Boat Insurance Blues," in the December 2013 BoatUS magazine, I decided to read the fine print in my policy. I learned a lot. I suggest you take a look at this article and then take a look at your own boat insurance policy.

Thanks Warren for the heads up .....that is about what i expected to read in regards to covering the boat .....its sorta like a bank loan ...you have to prove you dont need the money to get the loan.....

I keep insurance with BOATUS and read the article but I was busy at the time and instead of checking my policy I dismissed it as, here is BOATUS revealing the secrets of the less than candid competition. I guess I'll take a glance at the policy to see what gives. Thanks for the heads up Warren.
