My Lancer 27 decals are faded to the point of having no color. Sure would like to replace them. I looked in the Chandlery but didn't see any links for boat graphics. Does the Chandlery have any service like that? If not, any recommendations for custom decals for my boat? I have sent emails for quotes to Boatlettering.com and Stickers4u.com. Thinking about looking locally also, but haven't yet. Thanks for any input you might provide.

I use a sign shop

I get my graphics made at a sign shop that does work on trucks. As long as you tell them what it’s for so they can use the correct plastic film it works fine. Much less expensive then a “boat shop” and it’s the same machine and film. I do the setup and artwork in Photoshop and deliver it on a CD. All the best, Robert Gainer

What Robert said...

your local sign people can do a great job for you. With a photo, they can duplicate logos, with some imagination, they can do almost anything. Just don't scrimp on material, always buy the thickest most heavy duty film available and explain that it will be exposed to lots of UV.

Wiskj and a hairdryer

Mix up a very light solution of Wisk laundry detergent and water. Splash the zone for the decal. Stick decal to boat. The solution allows you to move it around until you have it just right. When it is where you like it, turn on the hairdryer and blow it dry.

local vinyl shops

Yep, you guy's are right. In my experience, local shops, like "prism graphics" here in Seattle are the best bet. We're working with a vinyl "guy" and may soon offer decals etc.... Dave Groshong customer service SailboatOwners.com toll free 877-932-7245 ext.116, Mon-Fri, 9-5 Pacific.

I can help...

Dare I say it, but I am one of those "Vinyl Guys" and have done many boats and vehicles. If you want someone to install it, find someone local but it is pretty easy if you take your time and measure correctly to do it yourself. I don't want to come off as selling something or pushing myself on this community since I value the input from everyone here, I'm just offering some help. I can provide some photos if you'd like to see them. Danny DSigns Sign Shop

Dimensions?

When you get a chance, give me the overall length of the lance and height of the shield and I'll give you an idea of cost.

Dimensions.

Oops, I opened up the image and responded without seeing that you already had the dimensions. A three color design (assuming the hull color where the logo will be located is white for the white stripes in the sheild) will cost you about $45.00 and that'll cover shipping and design time since I'll have to re-create the design.
