We have six old fender that came with the boat when we brought it, now two have leaking side wall cracks on them and one just leak slowly. Since St Peterburg Strictly Sail Show will be here at end of the month, was wonder which are best fender to buy down here in Florida with the uv and heat that will last awhile. We need six of them.

Try coating them with Armor All or any other UV protective coating to extend the life expectancy way down south.

There is a guy on my dock who use to have a master captain license and worked tourist boats in the carribean for a living. He told me that they use to fill their bumpers with expanding foam. They also did the same thing with the tires on their cheap chineeze-made dollys because they would never hold air.

I made the fenders for my boats out of lock line from the locks on the mississippi. these were to big for my small boat so I opted for 1in rope instead. They hold up very well and the UV doesnt seem to bother them at all. However they do take time to make.
